Dr. Valerie Murphy is an entrepreneur, IT professional,
educator, empowerment speaker, and author.
The Person
Dr. Val is an Atlanta native, with two children and four grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family, hosting events, building bridges and connecting communities.
She is a 2019 Hall of Fame inductee for Women’s Basketball for WVU of Technology, and is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
The Speaker
As a member of Toastmasters International, Dr. Val has held multiple leadership positions and is a Distinguished Toastmaster within DeKalb County. In this role, she has conducted and facilitated public speaking and leadership skill sessions, and emotional intelligence seminars. Steeped in understanding the importance of intellectual as well as emotional intelligence, Dr. Valerie provides encouragement, motivation, and critical support for self-development.
The Educator
Dr. Valerie presents a myriad of presentations and teaches skillsets focused on increasing self-awareness, and balancing strengths with areas of opportunity for a more fulfilling career and life. Dedicated to instilling the significance of emotional intelligence in the youth and underserved populations, Valerie is a member of Principal’s Advisory Council of Southwest Dekalb High School in Decatur Georgia.
